Terex Rough Terrain Cranes Debut the TRT 55US at CONEXPO 2026 Under New Owner Raimondi

Terex Rough Terrain Cranes and Terex Tower Cranes exhibited at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 in Las Vegas, March 3 to 7, for the first time as part of Raimondi Group, the Milan-based crane manufacturer that completed its purchase of both businesses from Terex Corporation on November 3, 2025.

The headline machine on the stand was the new TRT 55US, a 55-ton rough terrain crane designed specifically for the American market. Raimondi describes it as offering optimized mobility, an improved load chart, and an advanced control system, with a compact design that simplifies transport and an additional jib configuration for versatility. Two TRT 55US units were sold on the show floor. On the tower crane side, the company showed the CTL 712-45 luffing jib crane.

What Changed Hands

Terex announced the sale on September 2, 2025 and completed it on November 3, 2025. The deal included the Rough Terrain Cranes plant in Crespellano, Italy, the Tower Cranes plant in Fontanafredda, Italy, and the Terex North America Cranes service and support operation in Wilmington, North Carolina. Terex kept its Franna pick and carry crane business.

Terex President and CEO Simon Meester said the move "aligns with our strategic focus on reducing cyclicality and accelerating the Company's growth." Raimondi CEO Luigi Maggioni called it the most significant acquisition in Raimondi's history.

The product lines keep their names. The machines are still sold as Terex Rough Terrain Cranes and Terex Tower Cranes, engineered and built in the same Italian plants, now under Raimondi ownership and a newly established Raimondi North America organization. Raimondi said engagements at the show around service and spare parts "reinforced the organization's commitment to long-term support and reliability in North America."

What This Means for Owners of Terex RT Cranes

An ownership change does not change the iron. An RT 90 or RT 130 in the field has the same part numbers and the same Crespellano engineering behind it as it did last year, and the Wilmington support operation moved across with the business, so the North American parts and service line is intact.

What is worth watching is the dealer map and the model naming. The TRT 55US signals a new naming convention for machines developed under Raimondi, and distribution arrangements in some markets will be reviewed as the new owner settles in. Owners with questions about parts continuity for specific serial ranges should ask early rather than wait for a breakdown.
